YU Yunicorn is the latest Android Smartphone from YU, the subsidiary of Micromax. It was launched recently and went on sale from 7 June this year for Rs. 12,999 via Online Store. The device packs some awesome specs at this price and is the perfect competitor to Redmi Note 3 and Lenovo K4 Note Smartphones. Earlier we have shared a tutorial on how to unlock bootloader on YU Yunicorn and now we are going to show you How to Root YU Yunicorn YU5503.

Preparing YU Yunicorn for Rooting Process:

  1. This tutorial is for YU Yunicorn having YU5530 as model number. So don’t follow this guide on other devices.
  2. Backup all the important data and stuff to a safe place. Backup SMS, Contacts, Call Logs etc.
  3. Unlock Bootloader on YU Yunicorn.
  4. Enable Unknown Sources option from Settings > Security.
  5. Charge YU Yunicorn to at least 70%.

Disclaimer: Rooting YU Yunicorn might void the device’s warranty and should be done carefully. If done improperly may brick your device and leave it useless.

How to Root YU Yunicorn YU5530:

Step 1: Download Kingroot app from here and transfer it to your device.

Step 2: Open ES File Explorer or similar File Manager and install Kingroot.apk on YU Yunicorn.

Step 3: Open Kingroot and wait for it to analyse the device for its compatibility for the rooting process.

Step 4: Once it is done, a button labelled as Root should appear. Tap on it to proceed to Root YU Yunicorn.

Step 5: The device might reboot. After reboot open the Kingroot app and it should show the message saying root has completed.

Step 6: Check the Root Permissions with the help of Root Checker App.
