Unlock Bootloader on LG G4

LG recently has started promotion officially unlocking Bootloaders of their devices, starting with LG G4. As the unlocking the Bootloader on LG G4 is made official there is less risk of getting your device bricked. Though the procedure is made official it doesn’t mean that it will void warranty of your device. So my friends follow the steps listed below only if your warranty period is over or you doesn’t care about warranty being voided.

So without any further ado let’s proceed and unlock Bootloader on LG G4.

Getting Prepared:

  1. Make sure that you have backed up all of your important data to PC, as unlocking the Bootloader wipes all of your data. We have compiled some of the backup guides, follow them and backup your data.

Backup SMS

Backup Contacts

Backup Call Logs

Backup the files on internal storage to PC

  1. Enable USB Debugging on LG G4 from Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging. If you can’t find the Developer Options then follow the guide here.
  2. Ensure that all the necessary USB Drivers are installed on your PC.
  3. Setup ADB and Fastboot drivers on PC.
  4. Enable OEM Unlock option from Settings > Developer Options > OEM Unlock.
  5. Make sure you have at least 80-85% battery left, so that G4 won’t die in between the process.

Disclaimer: We should not be held liable or responsible for any damage to your LG G4, and nor the manufacturer is responsible for any damage to your device. So understand the risk involved before proceed with the steps.
