Enabling Root Access on Lineage OS is quite simple and it doesn’t require extra packages to be flashed via Recovery Mode. It can be rooted without PC. So, let’s now proceed and see how to Root Lineage OS or gain Root access on Lineage OS.

Note: Official version of Lineage OS is now yet released and this tutorial is for the unofficial builds which come with su binaries packed in them. As official version is not released we don’t guarantee whether this tutorial will work or not? If the official build doesn’t come with su binaries in them then this tutorial will not work.

How to Enable Root Access on Lineage OS:

Step 1: Open Settings app on your device running Lineage OS.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap on About Phone.

Step 3: Tap on Build Number for 7-10 times to enable Developer Options.

Step 4: Go Back to Settings and then tap on Developer Options.

Step 5: If all the options are grayed out then turn on the switch at the top right corner to enable Developer Options.

Step 6: Look for Root access option and tap on it and choose Apps and ADB.

Step 7: Also Enable USB Debugging as you might need it in the future if you are into Developing.
