Method 1: Re-flash stock firmware on Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge.
Deep sleep issue on Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge can be fixed by re-flashing the stock firmware. This will restore your device to completely stock as if you have just purchased it. This method can be used by both rooted and non-rooted users. If you have rooted Galaxy S6 then it will unroot your device and remove all the traces of root from the system. The chances are about 95-99% for this method to fix the deep sleep issue on your Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Also make a note that this method wipes all of your data, so have a complete backup of your device before you proceed.
Method 2: Force Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge to enter into deep sleep mode using terminal.
This method can only be used by the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users who have got root access, as it involves terminal commands which require root access to accomplish the task. So let’s proceed with the steps to fix deep sleep issue using terminal commands.
- Download and install Terminal Emulator on your Galaxy S6 / Galaxy S6 Edge from Play Store.
- Once installed open it from app drawer.
- Provide root access to the terminal by typing su command. Now a popup should come up asking whether or not to grant root access to terminal, just gran it.
- Once you have got root access to the terminal, type the following commands.
mount -o rw,remount /system /system
chmod 0700 /system/su.d
echo "#!/tmp-mksh/tmp-mksh" > /system/su.d/000000deepsleep
echo "echo 'temporary none' > /sys/class/scsi_disk/0:0:0:1/cache_type" >>
chmod 0700 /system/su.d/000000deepsleep
- Reboot your device once you are done with all the above commands.
That’s all now you have forced Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge to enter into deep sleep while it is locked.
