HTC 10 comes with the locked bootloader and this restricts the users from tinkering with their device. –> As unlocking bootloader wipes all the data and settings it is recommended to take a complete backup of your data to a safe place.
Backup files stored on internal storage to PC
–> Enable USB Debugging on HTC 10. How?
Go to Settings > About > Software Information > More and tap on Build number about 7-10 times until you see “you are now developer!” message. Now go to Settings > Developer Options and check USB Debugging.
–> Enable OEM Unlock Option. How?
Go to Settings > Developer Options and enable OEM Unlock.
–> Charge HTC 10 to at least 75% before unlocking its bootloader.
–> Install appropriate HTC USB Drivers on PC.
–> Setup ADB and Fastboot drivers on PC.

How to unlock Bootloader on HTC 10:
Step 1: Power off HTC 10.
Step 2: Press and Hold the Volume Down and Power buttons together until you see HTC Logo. This should boot your device into HTC download mode.
