Samsung Galaxy A8, the company’s thinnest Android smartphone launched – Checkout its Specifications, Features, price and availability
Samsung, the Korean smartphone manufacturer has officially launched its slimmest device, Samsung Galaxy A8 in China. This adds another device to Samsung’s ‘A’ series line up after Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7. It features an impressive metal design which gives this device a premium look and feel in hands. It has similar design to the Galaxy S6, except the glass on the back is replaced in Galaxy S6 is replaced with aluminium. It is a mid-range feature packed device that Samsung has ever released.
Samsung Galaxy A8 measures the thickness of just 5.9mm and it is the first slimmest smartphone that Samsung has ever made. It packs a 5.7 Inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and comes bundled with fingerprint sensor on the home buttons as seen on Galaxy S6.
The processor under the hood is Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC Cortex-A53 processor with one core clocked at 1.0 GHz and the other clocked at 1.5 GHz. It packs Adreno 405 GPU aided with 2GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB onboard storage with microSD card expansion slot. The microSD card slot is shared with the Second SIM card slot, so if we use microSD card then Dual SIM capability is lost and if we use both the SIM’s we can’t expand the storage using microSD card slot.
The camera department of Galaxy A8 offers a 16MP primary camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture, OIS and it also sports a 5MP front facing camera with 120 degrees wide-angle lens.
Samsung Galaxy A8 has the dimensions of 158 x 76.8 x 5.9mm and weighs just 151 grams and packs a 3050mAh battery to power the handset. Coming to the connectivity, the Galaxy A8 offers 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ Glonass, NFC etc. and it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out of the box.
Samsung Galaxy A8 will be available in Black, Gold and white color options and we have no words on the global launch and pricing of this device yet.
