This tutorial shows how to Root Galaxy S8 Plus and S8 with CF Auto Root – Simplest Root Guide without Custom Recovery
Are you looking forward to Root Galaxy S8 Plus or S8 Smartphone? Then this tutorial might help you. In this tutorial, we are going to Root Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus using CF Auto Root which doesn’t require TWRP or any Custom Recovery installed. This makes it the simplest method to Root Galaxy S8 Plus and S8. Before proceeding let us warn you that Rooting may void the device warranty and we recommend to proceed only if you have exceeded the warranty period or doesn’t care about the warranty.
Earlier we have shared two tutorial on how to install TWRP Recovery and Root Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones. Those methods involve installing Magisk from TWRP Recovery to gain Root Access. But this method only involves flashing the CF Auto Root Package using ODIN Flash Tool.
This method works on the below models of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Proceed only if your device model is listed below.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Models:
Galaxy S8 G950F, G950FD, G950U, G950N and G950W Models
Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus Models:
Galaxy S8 Plus G955F, G955FD, G955U, G955N and G955W Models
So, without any further ado, let’s proceed to Root Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus with CF Auto Root Package.
- Backup important data.
- Enable USB Debugging from Settings > Developer Options. If Developer Options is missing tap on the Build Number for about 7-8 times.
- Enable OEM Unlock from Settings > Developer Options.
- Charge your device to at least 60%.
Latest Odin Flash Tool (Recommended 3.12.3 and up)

How to Root Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus using CF Auto Root:
Step 1: Extract the Odin Flash Tool and run Odin.exe as administrator.
Step 2: Power off your Galaxy S8/ S8 Plus and boot into Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down + Bixby + Power buttons simultaneously together.
Step 3: Connect your device to PC using OEM USB Cable. If the device is successfully connected you should see Added! Message on ODIN.
Step 4: Extract the CF Auto Root Package to obtain the CF Auto Root.tar.md5 file.
Step 5: Tap on AP or PDA on Odin and choose the CF Auto Root Package.
Step 6: Now make sure only F.Reset Time option is checked and remaining all other options are unchecked under Options tab.
Step 7: Once done, hit Start button to begin the flashing process.
Step 8: Once done, you should see PASS! Message on Odin Tool.
Step 9: You might see a warning regarding DM-Verify on the first boot. If this is the case then you have to RESET your device. If the warning is not triggered then you are good to go.
Step 10: After successful Boot, check for Root Permissions using Root Checker App.
