How to Install TWRP Recovery and Root Huawei Mate S:

Step 1: Download the required files from the above download section and transfer the SuperSU package to the root of your internal storage.

Step 2: Rename the TWRP Recovery file to recovery.img and place it inside the Fastboot folder or the directory where you have installed the ADB and Fastboot drivers.

Step 3: Now press the hold the shift key and right click inside the Fastboot folder at the empty space and choose open command window here. This will open Command Prompt with the path to the Fastboot folder.

Step 4: Boot Huawei Mate S into Bootloader / Fastboot Mode. How? Power off Huawei Mate S and connect it to PC. Now press and hold both Volume Down and Up keys and Power ON the device. Don’t release the three keys until you see some text on screen.

Step 5: Type the following commands in CMD:

fastboot devices

To confirm whether the device is properly connected to PC. If it is properly connected then you will see a random serial number.

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

This flashes the TWRP Recovery on Huawei Mate S. Now it’s time to install the SuperSU package and Root Huawei Mate S.

Step 6: Power off your phone and press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons together. This boots Huawei Mate S into Recovery Mode.
