In this tutorial checkout how to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player
As expected Google has started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its Nexus line-up. But sadly Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and 1st generation Nexus 7 are not included for this update and from now on they will not receive any future versions of Android. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update was rolled out to Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player devices and in this tutorial we will guide you on how to manually install Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player.
Before you proceed make sure you are done with all the below listed requisites so that the installation process goes smoothly without any interruptions.
- This tutorial is for Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player and don’t try it on other devices.
- Ensure that your device is charged to at least 75%.
- Enable USB Debugging on your Nexus device from Developer Options.
- Backup all of your important data to safe place. Backup SMS | Contacts | Call Logs etc.
- Install the suitable USB Drivers on PC.
- Setup ADB and Fastboot drivers on PC – Windows | Mac.
- Unlock Bootloader on your Nexus device.

How to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player:
Step 1: Download Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for your Nexus device from the above links.
Step 2: Extract the firmware files to Fastboot folder and make sure fastboot.exe and flash-all.bat file is in same folder.
Step 3: Now open command prompt inside the Fastboot folder by opening the fastboot folder and pressing and holding shift key and right click inside the folder at the empty space and choose open command window here.
Step 4: Connect your Nexus device to PC and enter the following commands in the CMD:
This command shows list of device connected to PC with USB Debugging enabled.
This command boots Nexus device into Fastboot / Bootloader Mode.
Step 5: Now run flash-all.bat as administrator.
Step 6: Follow the onscreen instructions and reboot your device once done.
With this you have successfully installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player.
