Samsung Gear S2 Smartwatch and Gear VR headset launched in India – Checkout Specs, Features and Price
Samsung has launched its latest Tizen based Smartwatch dubbed as Gear S2 along with its first virtual reality headset called Gear VR in India. The Gear S2 Smartwatch is available in three variants as Gear S2, Gear S2 classic and Gear S2 3G and all the three runs on Tizen OS out of the box, while the Gear VR is powered by the Oculus VR.
The device comes with a 1.2 Inch Circular Super AMOLED display with 302 ppi and 360×360 pixels resolution and have Home and Back buttons to access notifications and applications easily.
These have IP67 certifications for dust and water resistant and are powered by 1GHz Dual-Core Exynos 3250 processor coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB Internal memory.
Coming to connectivity the Gear S2 connects with your device via Bluetooth 4.1 and have NFC support for mobile payments. It also have Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity option. Coming to sensors the device packs Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Heart Rate, Ambient Light and Barometer sensors etc. and is backed by a 250mAh Li-Ion battery and supports wireless charging.
Coming to Samsung Gear VR Headset, it is compatible only with Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge and Galaxy S6 edge smartphones. In order to use Gear VR users have to download some recommended Apps and additional apps can be purchased from Oculus store. The device comes with Accelerometer, gyro-meter, magnetic and proximity sensors.
Samsung Gear S2 and Gear VR Prices:
Coming to pricing Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic are priced for Rs 24,300 and 25,800 respectively. While on the other hand Samsung Gear VR headset is priced for Rs 8,200.
They will be available via Samsung retail channels and Flipkart starting February 21.
